Here are some frequently asked questions about the franchising process.
Q. What is the initial franchise fee?
A. The fee is $23,000 for your first franchise and $15,000 for all additional locations.
Q. What are the ongoing fees paid to the franchisor?
A. All franchisees pay a 6% royalty fee along with a 1% advertising fee. These fees are paid on a weekly basis. Franchise cooperative advertising programs are also used when and where applicable.
Q. What assistance will I receive in contractor and equipment purchase selection?
A. We will provide you with a list of approved equipment, equipment specifications, and recommendations for eligible contractors in your area.
Q. What does the franchisor provide?
A. We will provide the following:
- Assistance with site selection and new shop development.
- Twelve (12) days of training at our training store, where you will learn basic operations, food preparation and service.
- A detailed inventory of all of the equipment necessary to operate a Taco Del Mar store, plus a list of suppliers.
- Assistance in developing the floor plan and layout for your store, including a list of all suppliers that you may use to construct your store.
- Periodic visits and updates to evaluate and assist with general operations, marketing and employee performance, ensuring compatibility with Taco Del Mar standards.
Q. Where will I purchase my food?
A. SYSCO is our authorized supplier for most foods. They carry a number of products manufactured exclusively for Taco Del Mar. Coca-Cola is our authorized beverage supplier.
Q. Will Taco Del Mar provide financing?
A. We do not provide financial assistance to franchisees. It is our desire to select potential owners with the necessary capital to build their store. GE Capital and Wells Fargo SBA programs are outside financing opportunities that are available.
