Oct. 30--DAYTON -- A Cincinnati-based restaurateur has announced plans to open in the Dayton area a casual Baja-inspired Mexican restaurant chain called Taco Del Mar.
Anthony Wean, restaurant developer and multi-Subway shop owner, said the slated Nov. 9 opening of the first Taco Del Mar restaurant in Cincinnati will serve as a prototype to others planned for Dayton and Lexington, Ky. Taco Del Mar locations are independently owned restaurants. Wean did not say when the Dayton restaurant would open, but said he plans to open in the region 100 restaurants within the 10 years. Nationwide, there are 272 Taco Del Mar restaurants.
"Taco Del Mar is the perfect medium between fast Mexican and casual dining with fresh, made-to-order food and a fantastic value for the portions," Wean said. "People are going to love the food quality and the surf atmosphere." Taco Del Mar was co-founded in Seattle in 1992 by brothers James and John Schmidt. |
