BACK TO PRESS MENUTaco Del Mar plans Hawaiian expansion

Puget Sound Business Journal (Seattle) - May 18, 2006

Taco Del Mar announced plans to expand into Hawaii, and named Ken Nascimento, a former operator of Subway shops on the island of Oahu, to lead expansion efforts in that state.

Franchisees have signed up to open three restaurants in Kunia, Kapolei and Waipio, all on Oahu. Nascimento, who is also the regional franchisor of the Seattle-based food chain for the islands of Guam and Saipan, said he plans to open 40 locations overall in the region eventually.

"Taco Del Mar fits the islands well because it's laid back, surf inspired, the food is great tasting and fast and there are no dining options like it here," Nascimento said in a statement.

Taco Del Mar, founded in 1992, has 193 locations worldwide.
