PALM TREES SWAY OVER HOT NEW QUICK CASUAL RESTAURANT TACO DEL MAR
Taco Del Mar restaurant opens Sunday on famed Palm Canyon Drive

(SEATTLE)—June 8, 2007—Brothers “Con” Constantine and Pete Kolytiris, along with partner Nick Krespis, proudly announce the Sunday opening of their first Taco Del Mar restaurant, located at 109 S Palm Canyon Drive in Palm Springs, Calif.

“Taco Del Mar represents a completely new dining concept for the area,” Con Kolytiris sad. “It’s casual but very high quality food, with a great taste and freshness, and having seen its success firsthand in Seattle we’re optimistic it’s going to be very well received here.”

Taco Del Mar features signature Mondo burritos showcasing slow-cooked and marinated meats such as braised chicken, carne asada steak and seasoned pork; platters; tacos; salads; kids’ meals and vegetarian/vegan offerings. All of its food incorporates high quality ingredients in a made-to-order presentation. The store decor sets the “beach” mood with beach-themed murals, thatched palapas, mounted sailfish, long board tabletops and lively background music.

For the developers, the Palm Canyon Drive Taco Del Mar signifies the first of more than 85 they are pairing up with qualified franchisees to open between San Bernardino, Orange and Riverside counties. The Kolytiris brothers grew up with an intimate knowledge of restaurants with an entrepreneurial father running a popular Seattle restaurant enterprise. Con Kolytiris resides in Palm Springs and adds his broad commercial real estate background to the partnership. In Taco Del Mar the developers cited an opportunity to bring a new category of dining to the area, where few quality fast casual Mexican restaurants operate.

Palm Canyon Drive is known as the heart of the city of Palm Springs. The area abounds with shops, galleries, restaurants and attractions that make it a tourist and local favorite with its open market and festival appeal. Tall, light-covered palm trees sway along the street in the evenings and the atmosphere is friendly and fun. The Palm Canyon restaurant feeds on that energy with outdoor patio seating for 66, checkered with thatched palapas and bar height surfboard tables, and it offers beer and wine service. Hours for the new location are 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily and the restaurant phone is (760) 327-3555.

Taco Del Mar is a quick casual restaurant chain with 256 locations throughout North America, and was co-founded in Seattle in 1992 by brothers James and John Schmidt. Inspired by southern Baja, Mexico and coastal beach shacks that serve burritos and tacos, Taco Del Mar remains independent, unlike many “Mexi-fresh” restaurant concepts that are publicly traded or big burger owned. The company was ranked 17th in the January 2007 issue of Fast Casual magazine’s 2006 Top 100 Movers and Shakers, and Crittenden’s Restaurant Insider named Taco Del Mar as one of its 2006 “Hot Half Dozen” concepts.
