(SEATTLE, WASH.)Dec. 19, 2005The Dallas Morning News’ “Lunch Ladies” took Taco Del Mar to task more than once on its menu of “mondo burritos and rippin’ tacos” and the verdict is in: The restaurant’s fresh, fast and filling Baja-inspired food is a hit! Master Developer Marion Stampley, Jr. of MTS Ventures, Inc, announced several new Taco Del Mar restaurant openings coming in the next six months, including this month’s recent opening of 1600-square-foot location at 5129 North Garland Ave., in Garland. Franchisees Everett and Alexis Early of AE Ventures, Inc. will operate the location.
Several leases in finalization will bring Taco Del Mar to Addison, another downtown Dallas and Rockwall in February; West Fort Worth in early April; and South Arlington in May.
“People are just loving the food,” Stampley said, surveying the sentiment of his existing four area locations. “We have a strong catering component, so lots of people are enjoying the food at their home parties and office lunch.”
Taco Del Mar’s efficient use of kitchen space and equipment enables it to scale down the need for retail square footage, reduces labor cost, and facilitates a low cost of entry for franchisees. The food, in its made-to-order counter line format, simplifies operations and minimizes the needs for equipment. Investment ranges from $120,000 and $245,000 for build-outs.
The privately held, fast-casual Mexican restaurant franchise is consistently a reader poll favorite in its respective regions.
Looking ahead, Stampley will develop Taco Del Mar sites available for franchise in Texarkana, Marshall, Tyler, Amarillo, Lubbock, and Shreveport, Loiusisana. Austin and Waco Taco Del Mar restaurant locations throughout are being scouted by its area Master Developer James Templin. Well-received throughout the Western United States and British Columbia with more than 178 locations, the company is now developing in the Gulf States, Puerto Rico and Alaska.
