(SEATTLE)January 26, 2006San Jose-based builder Gary Sidhu, Taco Del Mar’s Master Developer for San Francisco, Alameda and Contra Costa counties, announced this week that franchisee Mandeep Saini has opened his much-anticipated Taco Del Mar restaurant at 163 2nd Street in downtown San Francisco.
Long lines and a repeat crowd have evidenced the demand for the brand’s famed “Mondo Burritos and Rippin Tacos,” whose Baja-inspired burritos are often compared to the San Francisco’s Mission style burritos.
Coming the second week of February is Sidhu’s at 800 Bryant in downtown San Francisco and a Pleasanton Taco Del Mar on 3550 Stanley Boulevard, franchised by Satwant Singh.
The quick serve Burrito chain gained a following throughout the Western States and British Columbia over its 14 years of steady growth. It is now expanding to the East and throughout Canada. The company began developing the Bay Area and East Bay last year under Sidhu, with Fremont location at Befra Center that opened in Fall.
Taco Del Mar is about fun and great food inspired by laid-back beach shacks that dish mondo burritos and rippin’ tacos. The restaurant offers 24-ounce mondo pork and chicken burritos, fish tacos, kids meals, salads, vegetarian and vegan offerings. Store decor sets the "Inner Baja" mood with surf murals, thatched umbrellas, sailfish, and long board tabletops.
