(SEATTLE)--Jan. 19, 2006—The wave of Taco Del Mar’s Nebraska development is coming on strong, where Master Developer John Rosberg of Norfolk, Neb., based TDM Development announced today that at least five stores will be open by spring. Today, Lincoln’s second Taco Del Mar restaurant opens: Powells (1317 O Street), franchised by Kevin Belling of Viking Subs LLC.
Just last month,TDM Development celebrated its first two restaurant openings, one in Lincoln at 27th and Pine Lake and another Grand Island on North Webb Road. Based on the success of the first Lincoln location two miles away, Belling said he is thrilled to open his restaurant and introduce more people to the brand’s fresh, filling Baja inspired food.
By Feb. 16, Rosberg will open his own Taco Del Mar franchise at 30 Center Mall in Columbus (3100 23rd Street). Then construction gets underway for a fifth location in Omaha, projected to open on May 1. In other parts of Rosberg’s development region, two Sioux City, Iowa locations are planned in the coming months, and a franchise agreement was recently signed for Sioux Falls, South Dakota, where the developer is currently scouting real estate.
Taco Del Mar is a welcome change on the quick serve restaurant landscape. Each restaurant offers mondo, 24-ounce beef, pork and chicken burritos, fish tacos, enchiladas, quesadillas, kids meals, salads, vegetarian and vegan selections. Customers choose their type of tortilla and toppings and watch their food being prepared to order behind an assembly area.
Store decor festively sets the "Inner Baja" mood with vibrant surf murals, thatched umbrellas, and long board tabletops. Taco Del Mar is found throughout the Western United States, Puerto Rico and British Columbia with 186 locations and growing. The company recently announced expansion plans in Canada and was named one of Entrepreneur magazine's Franchise 500 for 2005.
